Selling short and options on scottrade?

I used Scottrade for some time now and I have a margin account and everything. I never short sell before and dealt with options. I would like to get into this but IDK the fees and with options I don't know how to trade options.

Can someone please tell me the fees and if I'm using my own money and not borrowing it from Scottrade what do I need to have to make a short sell?

Also, can someone tell me how to do an option on Scottrade and what to look for or a site/youtube video that will help me?

To short anything you will need to have 2k in your account and you will need to go into a scottrade branch office and sign a margin accout paper because you can use margin to short and typically idk about scottrade but fees on options are $19 and i dont think u need any margin for that and you wont need to sign any papers

1.Log in to your account.

2. On top, click on the TRADE button

3. On the top left you will see Options - click options (You must be already set up for trading options in your account. If not you will have to call and get set up. It is not hard just a few papers to sign and send back.

4. When you buy you pick the drop down menu "Buy To Open"
5. When you sell you pick the drop down menu " Sell To Close"

6. You now must pick Call or Put Call is to go long and Put do go short

7. Pick strike price and limit order and hit submit

You can always click on the Option Chain to search through different months, and prices.

We use options, etfs, and just stock shares. Just depends on your trading style.

Honestly,not to brag but I have been pretty well decent at this ($2.5 million profit and climbing within 3 months of opening the personal account). My question is if it is possible to short penny stocks in real life.

You can't short sell stocks under $4. It's just too easy to manipulate price of penny stocks.
