Thanks! We've put a lot of work and money into these real-time quotes so I hope everyone enjoys them.
It does eliminate the 15-minute quote delays and 15-minute contest order delays for these 2,000 stocks. The other stocks on our site will still have the delays for now though.

I am really glad that there is real time trading in the contest!! you don't have to worry about the stock going up and not having enough money.

Yes, the real-time stock quotes work on personal portfolios (Fun Mode and Realistic Mode) and also contest portfolios. But remember only certain stocks are real-time. Basically if the stocks are actively traded on the AMEX, NASDAQ, or NYSE they will be shown as real-time on our site while the market is open (9:30am-4pm ET).

Hey Guys, I am a Mortgage Broker/Banker that closed my doors last year and I am climbing back into the Mortgage Biz and I have decided to finally learn some things about the Stock Market which I have nelglected to do. I am planning on getting my series 6, 63 and probably 7 , any advice for a beginner would be great. right now I am trading blindly as I have not taken the time to reasearch the specific stocks. Where is the best place to go to research a company/stock ? thanks for making this website as I am really starting to get into this. mortgagemark

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the site and to the world of stocks. You can make stocks really simple (throwing darts at a list of stocks or buying what your friends buy) or really complicated (analyzing hundreds of company financial numbers and chart analysis results).
Right now our site doesn't offer much in the way of company research, except for our Stock Screener, which allows you to easily search for stocks based on price, industry, P/E ratio, etc. Some of the big, popular financial sites include Yahoo! Finance, CNBC, Bloomberg, etc. They will have a lot more information for you.

For free sites I suggest Yahoofinance, finviz and bloomberg. For penny stocks go to pinksheets. A great resource for stock trading links is 411onstocks. - Put www before and .com after each of these links(limited to posting links here). Hope this helps and good luck.

Can you give some specific examples of what you saw? That will help us investigate the problem. Also, please report all technical problems on the Contact Us page so that we will see them.
