Is this system free?
Yes, this site is completely free! We are supported by advertising.
How do I sign up?
Click on a menu link called Virtual Trading, then click here to create new account. Fill out the registration page and then sign in with your password.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click on a menu link called Virtual Trading and then click on "Forgot your password?" Type in your email address and click Submit and your new password will be sent to the email address you signed up with.
Do you allow limit orders and trailing stops?
Yes, our "Realistic Trading Mode" has Limit Orders and Trailing Stops. Click on Manage Portfolios to try it out.
How long can I use my account?
You may use your account for as long as you like! However, if you do not log in at least every 6 months we may delete your account.
How do I change my cash level?
Log into your account and click on Manage Porfolios. Set the Cash Balance and click Update. NOTE: You cannot update your cash if you own any stocks, so you will need to reset your account first.
Does the system use real stock quotes?
Yes, all of the quotes are real. Some are real-time and some are delayed 15-20 minutes.
Is there any real cash involved?
No, it only uses virtual cash and there are no cash prizes if you do well.
What time are the markets open?
The markets are normally open 9:30am-4pm Eastern time Monday-Friday, except on market holidays.
Can I trade after the market closes?
Yes, you may do virtual trading any time of day or night. We use the stock's last price for your trade executions.
Do you have options trading on your system?
No, we do not right now but we plan on having that in the future.
How many portfolios can I have?
You may have up to 3 portfolios right now.
Do you have a special section for students and teachers?
Yes! Teachers may create Private Classroom Contests for their students.
How do I change my password?
First log into your account and then click on Edit Profile. You may save a new password there.
How do I log out?
Click on the menu tab called Log Out, which can be seen if you are viewing your Account Summary.
What if my stock changes symbols?
We will update your stock's symbol automatically within a couple days of the change.
How does this system handle dividends?
Dividends are not handled automatically, so you may need to Contact Us if you think you should have received a dividend. It will show up in your Trading History.
Can I practice trading on margin?
No, our system does not allow margin, but we may add that in the future.
Does my account accrue interest?
Yes, all contests and portfolios in Realistic Mode earn interest.
How close to real trading is your virtual stock exchange?
It is very similar but there are some important differences. For example, our system allows you to trade any time but the real markets are only open at certain times. We also allow you to buy unlimited shares of any stock at the Last Price but in real life the shares are limited and you are not guaranteed any certain price.
