About Us
HowTheMarketWorks is a product of Stock-Trak, Inc.
HowTheMarketWorks was created in 2004 to help people understand how the stock market works!
First we wrote hundreds of articles about the stock market and developed a glossary of the most popular stock market terms. Then we added a stock market game, stock market simulation or virtual trading (whatever you want to call it) and we allowed users to create their own custom and private competition.
Once we added the free stock market game, the site became very popular with professors and teachers and stock market clubs. Now we have added “assignments” so that teachers and professors have better control and reporting over what their students/users are doing on the site.
Hopefully you will find the information here useful and will be able to begin trading for the first time or simply have a better understanding of what happens behind the scenes.
We focus on how the market works rather than giving advice on which stocks to buy.
